Neves scored a goal in the 94th minute of the game to level the score line and two minutes later, the Eagles netted a winner.
As per O Jogo, Manchester United scouts were present to monitor the performance of the youngster and were highly impressed.
The news source have mentioned that Liverpool, Arsenal and Man City are also interested in the 19-year-old as well, who would only leave if the £104m release clause in his contract is activated.
The reigning Portuguese champions would ideally want to hold on to the starlet at least until the end of the 2024/25 campaign.
He has already made his debut for the Seleccao and we may see him in action on Thursday night against Liechtenstein.
According to Jornal de Noticias, Benfica know that powerful clubs like Man Utd may attack to sign Neves and that is why a new deal was agreed with him back in August.
The clause in his previous contract was worth 60 million euros, which was raised to £104m (120 million euros) and now, he takes home a gross salary of a million euros a year.
At Old Trafford, Erik ten Hag needs to find a long term replacement for Casemiro. In your view, should Man Utd pay £104m to sign Joao Neves?
