Turkish giants Besiktas are reported to have communicated with the representative of Marouane Fellaini as they seek to pursue a Bosman move for his services in the summer. The Belgium international is approaching the final six months of his Manchester United contract, and he will be free to discuss terms with an overseas club next month.
According to Turkish-Football, Besiktas have monitored the midfielder’s situation over the past few months, and they have now held talks with his agent over a proposed move. However, any deal is unlikely to be sorted out in January with the Black Eagles wanting to secure a free transfer in the off-season, than paying up to United’s demands.
United have made no progress with Fellaini’s extension since September, and the Belgian appears to be on the watch for better contract offers with regular first-team football, which is not a guarantee under Jose Mourinho.
Fellaini is currently sidelined with a knee injury which has hampered him since October, but he nevertheless remains a key part of Mourinho’s plans, with the Portuguese tactician having praised the Belgian’s efforts on numerous occasions.
The former Everton man has contributed four goals in 11 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions this term.
