Man Utd move well in front to sign £85.6million star – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

In the last two seasons, Romelu Lukaku was our top scoring player. Unfortunately, Solskjaer opted to sell the Belgian international in the summer and did not even replace him.

The 26-year-old has already netted 9 goals in 12 Serie A outings so far under the management of Inter Milan boss Antonio Conte.

As it stands, Man United clearly lack depth in their strike-force department and therefore, a quality goalscorer should be lured as soon as possible. If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are heavily linked with Norwegian international Erling Haaland.

Transfer: Man Utd chasing the signature of £34million play breaker – Face competition

According to Dagbladet, Solskjaer has decided to sign the teenage sensation, his efforts to sign the center forward are underway and already, Man Utd have moved well in front of the queue to hire his services.

The Norwegian source have claimed that Haaland’s departure is possible in January or in the summer (more likely) and if the youngster does leave in the winter transfer window, he has what it takes to settle very quickly. It is mentioned that the player’s value is around one billion Norwegian kroner i.e. 100 million euros (£85.6million).

Ten days back, renowned Italian source Tutto Sport claimed that RB Salzburg want 100 million euros from the sale of their prized asset.

The 19-year-old star is arguably the most in form striker in the wold at the moment. In just 18 appearances in all competitions this term, he has already netted 26 goals (including no fewer than 5 hat-tricks).

The former Molde striker is currently the leading goalscorer in this season’s UEFA Champions League with 7 goals in 3 starts. He scored against Liverpool at Anfield and found the net three times in the two fixtures vs Italian giants Napoli.

Solskjaer should use his influence to lure his compatriot but in all fairness, at the moment, Manchester United are not in a position to attract top stars. After just 12 PL fixtures, we are out of the title race and very far behind in CL qualification race. Moreover, we are not taking part in the Europe’s elite competition in the current campaign.

In your view, should Man Utd splash £85.6million to sign Erling Haaland in January?

  1. I wish he agrees to play for Man United considering the fact that we are not in Europe. He should be signed. Next season we should contend for the EPL title and not just champion league qualification
