Nikola Milenkovic Serbia

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Manchester United could be clear to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina.

The Serbian international will be out of contract next summer and his market value is at around £34million (La Nazione).

Transfer: Man United pushing to secure bargain £25.5million signing – Report

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, it has become inevitable that the central defender will be sold in the summer transfer window because he is not going to extend his stay with the Serie A side.

The renowned Italian media outlet have claimed that Man Utd are already operational and moving to agree the signing of Milenkovic.

GdS claim that the 23-year-old player was also on the radar of Liverpool but the Merseysiders are now pursuing the signature of R Leipzig’s Ibrahima Konate. So, Man Utd’s path to lure the Serbian defender seems to be clear now.

Milenkovic has scored three goals and provided 1 assist in the Italian league for Fiorentina but defensively, he has not been rock solid.

In the recent World Cup qualification fixtures, he featured for full 90 minutes in the 3-2 victory over Ireland, received a late late red card in the 2-2 draw against European Champions Portugal and was suspended for the fixture against Azerbaijan that Serbia won 2-1.

Over the years, Man Utd have signed center backs like Bailly (2016), Lindelof (2017) and Maguire (2019) but things at the back have still been shaky at times. Solskjaer needs a consistent defense to seriously challenge Man City for the title next season.

In your opinion, who should Ole sign to improve the back-line at Old Trafford?
