Old Trafford night

Manchester United must splash the cash to improve their attacking flanks and they are now moving to sign Nico Williams.

As per a story published by Diario AS today (news image provided below), Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea ‘are above’ the Athletic Bilbao winger.

Spain defeated Italy 1-0 in the European Championships and in that contest, Williams absolutely crushed Di Lorenzo with dribbles, and reached the maximum speed of around 34 km/h.

Old Trafford legend, Roy Keane, was wowed by the quality of the Spaniard and said:

“Pure quality. He has pace, you can’t coach that. We saw [in] the first half he’s a threat. When he gets one-vs-one against the full-back, he’s in all sorts of trouble.”

“He can go left or right, we saw with his shooting power and his crossing. Excellent play, best player of the park, strength, a great attitude, strong.”

According to AS, apart from the English sides, Barcelona are pushing to sign Nico Williams as well but it would be impossible for them to afford the transfer.

Last season, in just four Copa del Rey starts, the 21-year-old directly contributed in nine goals to help Bilbao win the competition. He scored and assisted against Barcelona and Atletico Madrid.

In all tournaments, he netted 8 goals and provided no fewer than 18 assists for the La Liga side.

His current contract at the Estadio de San Mames will expire in 2027 and it has a release clause of £47million.

In your view, should Man Utd move in to activate the £47million clause and sign Nico Williams?
