Manchester United are looking to make massive moves in the transfer market and this would need to involve making sales.
The likes of Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Marcus Rashford & co. are not in the club’s plans and need to be moved on.
News – Club ready to agree £35m fee to sell player to Manchester United – Report
It is very much important for the club to sign a new striker this summer. Rasmus Hojlund has not impressed in his couple of seasons at the club and he has lacked the consistency one would want from a number nine playing for Man Utd.
The Red Devils have a number of strikers on the list and among them is Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian had a very good season on loan at Galatasaray and he has no future at Napoli. The player actively needs to find a new club for the upcoming season.
As per Spanish source, Fichajes, Man Utd are now leading to seal the signing of the talented striker as he wants to move to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils need someone who knows how to score goals and with a player like Osimhen, this is exactly what he guarantees to the team.
Napoli are keen on moving on the player and a fee of £63.3million would be sufficient for Man Utd to sign him this summer. At the fee, the quality that they would be getting is quite significant but Osimhen is likely to demand a significant wage.
Former Man Utd man Lee Sharpe has endorsed Osimhen’s move to Man Utd, admitting that a “tested” option could add a lot to the club. He said:
“Victor Osimhen has been mentioned, and I would love to see him at the club because he has this air of arrogance and confidence about him. He has scored a lot of goals at the top level for Napoli and he is tried and tested. He would slot into a United team really easy.”
Osimhen played 41 games across all competitions last season, scoring 37 goals and providing 8 assists. With a playmaker like Bruno Fernandes to create chances for him, it would make a lot of sense for Ruben Amorim to sign him.
Ultimately, it could all come down to the finances of the deal. Let’s wait and see how things play out.
