Manchester United have had a number of problems to contend with since the start of the season but arguably their biggest one yet has been the lack of goals from their designated strikers. Both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have not stepped up in this regard.

The only reliable goal scorer for Man Utd thus far has been their captain Bruno Fernandes and that says something about their forward line. The Red Devils need to solve this issue come the summer and it could mean signing a new striker.

Man Utd are not a financially blessed club at the moment and might have to make a sale, presumably of one of the strikers.

Now, as per Tutto Sport, Man Utd are moving to secure the signing of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen and could offer Rasmus Hojlund in a swap deal. Talks have been held with the Italian side.

Osimhen does not have a future at Napoli after falling out with the management and is spending the current season on loan at Galatasaray where he has continued his own, merry, goalscoring ways.

Come the summer, he is likely to be in search of a new permanent home.

The perfect signing?

In 32 games across all competitions this season, Osimhen has scored 28 goals and provided 6 assists. Compare that to Rasmus Hojlund who has scored 8 goals and provided 4 assists in 41 games across all competitions and it paints a story.

One stumbling block could be the fact that Osimhen might aspire to play at the biggest European stage which is the Champions League and unless they perform an unlikely heist to win the Europa League, Man Utd are not going to be able to offer him that.

Valued at £59.7million, Osimhen would be an excellent addition should Man Utd be able to sign him.

The Red Devils will have to do something significant to convince him to come to Old Trafford and it remains to be seen how they go about securing the Nigerian’s signature.
