Manchester United are going to improve their attacking department with the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.

As per the latest reports, now, the Red Devils are focused on strengthening their defense and their prime target is none other than Real Madrid’s Rapahel Varane.

Transfer: Man Utd expected to secure £65million terms to seal signing – Report

According to The Telegraph, after reaching an agreement for Sancho, Man Utd’s priority is to secure the signing of Varane from the Los Blancos.

The French international has entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Bernabeu and Madrid would surely not want to let him go for free next year. As per ESPN, Man Utd are close to finalizing the deal to sign Varane and they are confident that he can be secured for a fee of 50 million euros.

It must be remembered that per repots in Spain the Old Trafford outfit have already made a contract offer that will make the 28-year-old earn £200,000 a week as and the 13-time European Champions are looking to get a fee of 60 million euros (£51.4m) from his sale (MD).

United have spent a lot of cash to strengthen the defense over the years but things have not really improved. In the 2019-20 campaign, Solskjaer’s men conceded 36 goals in the Premier League. On the other had, last season, they let in 44 goals.

Without a consistent defensive record and consistent central defensive partnership, Man Utd would not be able to challenge for the title next season. They need a top player to partner skipper Harry Maguire in the central defense and there are not many around who are better than Raphael Varane.

In your view, should Man Utd splash £51.4m to get his signing done?
