Transfer: Man Utd submit offer, hell-bent on signing £51million star – Report
However, as per a report published by Corriere dello Sport today (news image provided below) Manchester City are now trying to beat Man Utd to lure the central defender.
The famous Italian source state the player will travel to Manchester and then decide whether to move to Old Trafford or The Etihad.
CdS claim Man Utd moved well in advance, even before the end of the campaign, and offered a deal worth £7million a year i.e. around £135,000-a-week to Kim.
Further, it is reported that the Red Devils are prepared to activate the £49.6m clause (58 million euros) to sign the player next month.
The 26-year-old central defender was brilliant in Napoli’s Scudetto winning campaign and has the quality to improve both the Manchester clubs.
Corriere dello Sport report that Man City have recently won the treble and can attract Kim with their flamboyant football under Guardiola.
On the other hand, Manchester United have history, “there’s no arguing about it”. The rest will depend on the “pounds, bonuses, awards” offered to the player.
We shall see how the transfer saga unfolds and will keep you updated.
