Manchester United don’t have long left to go before deadline day and seem to be working against the clock to bring in players who can improve the squad.

To make space for arrivals, they have managed to shift out both Anthony and Marcus Rashford on loan.

The Red Devils have also secured the signature of Lecce wing-back Patrick Dorgu who can be the solution to their left wing-back woes. One other position that the team need to sign a player in is in attack, preferably a striker.

Both Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have flattered to deceive so far this season and it was quite telling when Ruben Amorim decided to start without either one of them in their Premier League game against Crystal Palace today.

Now, as per The Athletic, Man Utd are plotting a move to sign talented Aston Villa winger, Leon Bailey, before the deadline. He is one of the names on their list along with talented Bayern Munich teenager Mathys Tel.

Bailey was ever-present for Unai Emery’s side last season. He was instrumental in their push to secure Champions League football, with the Jamaican international netting 10 goals and providing 9 assists last term.

This season however, he has been largely inconsistent, with just one goal and two assists so far in the PL. With the likes of Rashford and Marco Asensio expected to join Unai Emery’s side, this could allow Man Utd to get Bailey.

The winger, who can play on either side, currently earns around £120,000 a week at Villa.

With not long left before the deadline, it remains to be seen if Man Utd manage to reach an agreement to bring Leon Bailey to Old Trafford. Let’s wait and see how it plays out.
