Manchester United were heavily interested in signing Jurrien Timber from Ajax in the summer and the Dutch international is once again on Ten Hag’s radar.

The Red Devils launched a move to sign the £35million-rated center half (The People) but on Louis van Gaal’s advice, the player ended up staying with the Dutch champions.

Therefore, the Old Trafford outfit opted to sign Argentine international, Lisandro Martinez, from the Eredivisie giants to improve their backline.

As per a recent report covered by The Sun, Man Utd are plotting raid to finally sign Timber. Moreover, they are also looking at other Dutch players.

The British news source have mentioned that Ten Hag is prepared to cut down the average age of the squad and wants youngsters from his homeland.

Timber, 21, has been one of the most important players for Ajax. He was a key member of Ten Hag’s side that won the Eredivisie title in the past two years.

Moreover, the youngster was also an important player for Louis van Gaal at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year.

In the current campaign, the 14-capped international has regularly started for Ajax, who were comfortably sitting on top of the table not so long ago. However, after dropping points in their last five league games, the champions are now in third place.

Man Utd have largely improved at the back this season mainly when captain, Harry Maguire, has warmed the bench. The England international needs to leave to play regular first team football.
