Transfer – Man Utd can agree pre-contract agreement to sign £597,000 a year midfielder – Report

Now, as per Sky journalist Patrick Berger, Man Utd are among the clubs positioned to secure the signing of Martin Baturina.

The Croatian midfielder plays for Dinamo Zagreb and is touted as one of the biggest things coming from his nation. This has prompted interest from the Red Devils, Bayern Munich and even Real Madrid, fuelled by Luka Modric.

Croatia have a reputation for producing excellent midfielders over the years – Modric, Ivan Rakitic, Brozovic and Mateo Kovacic to name a few. Martin Baturina could be the next in line in a long list of talented midfield stars.

Baturina currently earns around £150,800 a year. He has five assists from eight games so far this season. Manuel Neuer, the Bayern Munich and German legend recently labelled the 21-year-old a “great” talent for the future.

The Croatian youngster is similar to Barcelona midfield star Pedri. He is both a playmaker and an orchestrator and can play both as a #10 and as a #8. He can also play in a double pivot as the deep-lying playmaker.

With three top clubs interested in Baturina, Man Utd might be the least likely option of the three. However, that should not stop the club from trying and it remains to be see how the Croatian’s career pans out from here on.
