Man Utd prepare £29.6million offer to sign £50million star – Report

Ugarte Uruguay

Manchester United need a long term replacement for Casemiro and the name of Manuel Ugarte is in the focus.

According to Uruguayan source, Traspasos, Man Utd are preparing an offer worth £29.6million (35 million euros) to sign Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

However, the bid might not be enough to secure his signing considering PSG paid a fee of 60 million euros to lure him from Sporting CP last summer.

As per an exclusive story covered by GiveMeSport, the Old Trafford outfit have already seen a move rejected by the Ligue 1 champions.

Erik ten Hag is waiting to see whether Man Utd would be able to secure the signing of Ugarte and GMS claim, he will not be allowed to leave for a fee of less than £50million.

The South American star is a natural play breaker and a few hours ago, he featured for full 90 minutes in Uruguay’s 5-0 win over Bolivia in the Copa America.

United’ first choice DM, Casemiro, is past his prime. The Brazilian had a terrible campaign last term that resulted in his exclusion from the Copa squad.

The Samba holding midfielder will turn 33 next year and his contract at Old Trafford will expire in two years.

So, Man Utd should ideally cash in on him and sign a long term replacement in the form of 23-year-old Manuel Ugarte.
