Manchester United are interested in signing Slovenian shot stopper, Jan Oblak, to replace Andre Onana at Old Trafford.

In the summer, the Red Devils allowed David De Gea, who won the Golden Glove in the Premier League last season, to leave upon expiry of his contract.

To replace him, the Old Trafford outfit splashed a fee of more than 50 million euros to sign Onana from Inter Milan.

However, the Cameroonian international has been shaky in the goal and has cost Man Utd big time with his decision making and blunders.

In such a scenario, reports indicate that the Red Devils want to get rid of the African goalie and replace him with Atletico Madrid’s Jan Oblak.

According to an exclusive story covered by Spanish source, Todo Fichajes, the Rojiblancos are willing to listen to offers for the 31-year-old star.

It is stated that Man Utd are preparing an offer worth £38.5million (45 million euros), which could be enough to lure the former Benfica player.

Oblak has been a superstar in the La Liga for the Colchoneros. He won the best goal keeper award in the 2015-16 campaign.

Moreover, the 60-capped star was named La Liga’s Most Valuable Player when Atletico Madrid went on to win the title in the 2020-21 campaign under Diego Simeone.

Man Utd need to solve the goalkeeping conundrum once and for all and a world class player like Jan Oblak could be the solution.

In your opinion, should Man Utd offer £38.5million to sign him?

  1. Onana is inconsistent both for United and the Cameroon national team (which is why they’ve chosen to bench him).He will remain a liability for as long as United choose to keep him. They need to get this deal done asap, preferably during the last remaining days of the Jan transfer window
