Manchester United have been linked with Spanish international, Saul Niguez, in the summer transfer window and now, there is another twist in the transfer saga as per reports coming from Spain.
According to AS (press image provided below), the creative midfielder’s future at Atletico Madrid has been up in the air for some time and he could end up leaving this month.
The renowned Spanish media outlet have mentioned that Premier League clubs have knocked on the door to hire the services of the 26-year-old star, whose current contract at the Wanda Metropolitano will expire in 2026.
It is stated that at first, Liverpool were readying an offer worth 40 million euros for the La Roja star but then, Manchester United arrived. The Red Devils prepared a bid (more than the Anfield club) of over 40 million euros (£34.3million).
Then, a barter between with Barcelona’s Antoine Griezmann failed and now the latest twist in the transfer saga is that Chelsea could move in to secure the signature of Saul.
AS claim that after luring Romelu Lukaku, the Blues are contemplating whether to sign a center back in the form of Jules Kounde or to improve the midfield department by capturing Saul.
The news source have mentioned that the sale of the midfielder would result in a decent cash injection for the Rojiblancos, who will not mind if the player ends up staying. He is expected to start tomorrow vs Elche.
At Man Utd, Ole needs to strengthen things in the center of the park and recently, Rio Ferdinand has backed the club to bring Saul Niguez to Old Trafford (FIVE). In your view, should United move in to get his signing done?
