In such a scenario, the Red Devils are ready to multiply the wages of Griezmann to hire his services from the Rojiblancos.
According to Spanish source, Nacional, the French international, who won the World Cup back in 2018, has a release clause of £22million in his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, which is due to expire in 2026.
The Catalan media outlet have mentioned that the Old Trafford outfit have sent representatives to Madrid in order to strike the deal to lure the Les Bleus superstar.
It is stated that at the moment, Griezmann takes home around 7 million euros per season and Man Utd are prepared to agree a deal worth £354,000 a week, 21 million euros per season, to get the signing done.
The 124-capped international is still one of the best players in the world and he has been in fantastic form for Atletico in the current campaign.
So far, he has netted four goals in as many Champions League appearances and directly contributed in 9 goals in 12 league games.
The versatile forward can play anywhere in the attacking third and has the quality and the experience to improve the offense at Old Trafford. However, he will turn 33 next year and luring him will only be a short term fix.
