The news source have reported that the Nerazzurri are in the market for a new central defender and have been linked with the Swedish international.
Lindelof was lured by the Red Devils when Mourinho was in charge of the club. The former Benfica man will be out of contract next year and he has been out of favor under Erik ten Hag.
In the current campaign, so far, the 28-year-old star has only started five games in the Premier League as the manager has preferred Martinez and Varane in the central defense.
Dumfries is an attack minded right back that Ten Hag desires. He likes to sprint forward on the right flank and has regularly contributed in goals for the club and the country.
He was a crucial part of the Oranje squad that reached the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar last year.
In the Round of 16, the 26-year-old fullback scored a goal and provided two assists to help the Netherlands beat USA 3-1.
On Tuesday night, Dumfries impressed at the back and kept a clean sheet for Inter Milan vs Porto as the Italians booked their place in the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.
Last month, La Gazzetta Dello Sport revealed that it would take a fee of £43.8million (50 million euros) to hire the defender in the summer.
