Manchester United are heavily linked with Norwegian international Erling Haaland and the latest reports are interesting.
Earlier this month, Dagbladet reported that the Red Devils have moved in front of the queue to hire the services of the teenage center forward, who is valued at around 100 million euros (£85.7million).
Transfer: Man Utd plan to speed up things to sign £68million playmaker – Report
Now, The Times have revealed that Man Utd are ready to launch move to sign Haaland in January. It is stated a bid in excess of £60million could be enough to get his signing done in the winter transfer window.
The famous British source have claimed that the Old Trafford club tend not to move for players in January but they are prepared to make an exception for the highly rated RB Salzburg striker.
United clearly lack strength in their strike-force department after selling and not replacing Belgian international Romelu Lukaku, who was the leading goal-scorer at Old Trafford in the last two campaigns.
Therefore, the department must be reinforced in January and Haaland would be a top quality addition.
The 19-year-old has been in sensational form for the Austrian club in the current campaign. So far, in 18 appearances in all competitions, he has directly contributed in 32 goals (26 goals and 6 assists)
He has already netted 7 goals in just 3 Champions League starts this term and was the leading goalscorer in the competition before Lewandowski netted four goals against Red Star Belgrade last night.
Solskjaer might be able to convince his compatriot to join and Man United might be able to offer him a lucrative contract but I think it will be a huge surprise if he leaves Salzburg in the middle of the season for a club struggling in the Premier League at the moment.
