Man Utd prepared to offer £21.5m to sign star for new manager – Report

Old Trafford night

Manchester United are not only linked with quality players but also with managers as Erik ten Hag’s position as head coach is in doubt.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Spanish manager, Julen Lopetegui could replace the Dutchman at Old Trafford and sign Youssef En-Nesyri from his former side, Sevilla.

Transfer: Man Utd lead among PL sides to sign £25.8million playmaker – Report

According to Spanish source, Todo Fichajes, United have maintained contacts with Lopetegui’s agent and he could be the one to take the managerial hotseat at Old Trafford.

The media outlet have mentioned that the ex Wolves boss has requested reinforcements and he wants Moroccan center forward, En-Nesyri.

It is stated that Man Utd are prepared to offer £21.5m (25 million euros) to sign the African striker from Sevilla but the move depends on the arrival of Lopetegui.

The 26-year-old has won two Europa League titles with the Seville club and this season, so far, he has netted 9 goals in 22 appearances in all competitions.

En-Nesyri was impressive at the FIFA World Cup last year for the Atlans Lions, who earned fourth place in Qatar.

He scored the decisive goal against Canada in the group stages to ensure top spot for Morocco. Moreover, the experienced forward netted a sublime header to oust Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal from the competition.

This week, Erik ten Hag’s men were kicked out of Europe for finishing bottom of their Champions League group.

Man Utd are already struggling in the Premier League and next up, they face leaders, Liverpool, who thrashed them 7-0 at Anfield last season.

A similar sort of result this Sunday may just force the United management to sack the Dutch manager.

Have your say – Should Man Utd hire Lopetegui to replace Ten Hag? Is Youssef En-Nesyri good enough to reinforce the attack at Old Trafford?

  1. Nothing to lose, Ten Hag seems to have run out of ideas and if it means a new man in charge why not, he has spent a lot of brass and the team is no better than it was in fact in some area’s its worse.
