Man Utd prepared to pay £30.3million to secure signing – Report

Nikola Milenkovic Serbia

Manchester United are in search of a center back and the name of Nikola Milenkovic has consistently been linked with the Red Devils.

Few days back, Calcio Mercato reported that the 20-time English champions are favorites to lure the defender from Fiorentina in the summer transfer window.

Transfer: Report – Man Utd submit offer to sign £198,000-a-week wanted player

Today, as per a story covered by Sport Mediaset, Man Utd are prepared to pay 35 million euros (£30.3million) to secure the signing of the Serbian international.

The well known Italian media outlet have claimed that the only reason the Old Trafford outfit have the edge in the race is because they have no objection in meeting the above mentioned asking price to sign the 23-year-old star.

Milenkovic’s current contract with the Viola will expire in the summer of 2022 and therefore, I think that £30.3million is a very high valuation of someone who can be lured for free next year.

Yesterday, La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported (via Sport Witness) that because the player has refused to extend his stay, the Florence based club are hoping to demand a fee of 25 million euros. Moreover, it is stated that the price could even further drop in the next couple of months.

It must also be taken into consideration that this season, his performances for Fiorentina have been average and even during the international break, the former Partizan star was poor in the World Cup qualification fixtures for Serbia.

So, the Italian side should not ask for a high fee and more importantly, in my view, Man Utd should drop their interest in signing him. What do you think?

  1. If he is a good player let them buy him..his poor form can still change if you let him know of his mistake on pitch.
