According to Sport (news image provided below), Barca want 80 million euros (£66.9million) from the sale of De Jong and the Old Trafford outfit are willing to meet the asking price to get the signing done.

However, the 20-time English champions now face stiff competition from Chelsea, who have officially moved in to lure the Dutch midfielder.

It is stated that Thomas Tuchel is himself pushing for the signing. Barcelona are also dealing to lure Alonso and Azpilicueta from the Blues but separately demand £66.9million for De Jong.

As far as Dest is concerned, last month, we covered a story stating that Ten Hag does not trust Wan-Bissaka and Dalot and has ordered United to secure the signing of the American fullback from Barca.

Today, Sport have reported that Man Utd are prepared to pay a fee to sign the £16.7million-rated (20 million euros) versatile star, who can play on either side of the field.

The Catalan outlet claim Bacelona would like to close the sale of the former Ajax player to improve the finances of the club.
