As per reports going on in the media, Manchester United seem serious about signing Ronald Araujo from Barca.
The Uruguayan central defender will be out of contract in 15 months and the Catalan club have so far failed to reach a fresh agreement with him.
According to a report covered by Sport, Barcelona are offering Araujo a deal that will make him earn three million euros a year, however, the player is adamant and wants a contract worth 6 million euros a year.
In case the negotiations break down, the Spanish news source have mentioned that Man Utd are prepared to submit a huge bid to sign the 23-year-old in the summer.
It is stated that if the bid is big enough, it could be accepted by Barcelona keeping in view that the South American star could leave on a free transfer next year.
As per reports in the Spanish media, the former Rentistas defender is rated at around £33.7million (MD) and lately, AS reported that Man Utd are even willing to agree a contract worth 8 million euros a year to sign the youngster.
Araujo is the best central defender at Barca and can be huge long-term asset, therefore, losing him would be a major blow. On the other hand, it would be a massive coup if the Old Trafford outfit can get his signing done.
United once again dropped points yesterday and it looks highly unlikely that they will take part in the CL next term. They need to sign quality players in the summer transfer window. Should they move in with a huge bid to lure Ronald Araujo?
