Now, the Lisbon side value their prized asset at £51million. However, they could even consider offers of around £35m which would be a huge £33m discount on their January asking price.

The British media outlet have mentioned that the likes of Liverpool and Newcastle United have been after the African defender but their interest has cooled down.

Man Utd had a negative goal difference in the recently concluded Premier League campaign and things must be improved at the back this summer.

The Old Trafford outfit have struggled with injuries and had to try out multiple central defensive partnerships under the management of Erik ten Hag.

Sporting seek to raise cash through player sales, and Ousmane Diomande is seen as among the sellable assets. As such, the two clubs could find a common ground in what could be a win-win solution to their respective quests.

The 4-capped Ivorian was a key member of the Lions squad that lifted the Liga Nos trophy under the management of Ruben Amorim.

Moreover, he was also part of the national team squad that won the African Cup of Nations in winter.

In your view, should Man Utd move in to finally sign Ousmane Diomande?
