Man Utd ready to agree new £150,000-a-week deal with 25-year-old attacker — Report

Lingard Man Utd

Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard is set to earn a new bumper contract following his return from the ongoing World Cup in Russia. The Englishman experienced his best scoring season with United last term with 13 goals across all competitions and the progress has enabled him to become a regular with the national team.

Lingard has been one of England’s leading performers at the ongoing World Cup where he has already contributed a goal and an assist and The Sun reports that United are prepared to double his current £75,000-a-week wages upon his return from the global tournament.

During the early phase of his career, Lingard has concerns with injuries and poor finishing which restricted his regular involvement with United. However, he managed to overcome most of his weak-links last season and had a relatively smooth campaign, though it did not result in a trophy.

Nevertheless, the attacker has the opportunity to end the summer on a high with the Three Lions recently through to just their third semi-final in World Cup history. Lingard’s extension at Old Trafford is set to make him one of the highest-paid players at Old Trafford and hopefully, this can translate into more consistent performances – in the club’s quest to end their league title drought.
