Manchester United have been interested in Giorgio Scalvini for some time and reports indicate they are ready to pay the £43.5m asking fee to finally secure his signing.
Back in November, Tutto Sport revealed the Red Devils are in a favored position to lure the Italian international.
Moreover, Tutto Atalanta covered a story and stated that Atalanta could sell their prized asset to Man Utd for a fee of 50 million euros (£43.5m).
A week back, renowned Italian journalist, Alfredo Pedulla, stated the Old Trafford outfit are in the picture to lure Scalvini.
More recently, Spanish outlet, Nacional, have revealed Erik ten Hag has asked the club to improve the backline in the winter transfer window.
The Catalan news source have mentioned that Man Utd are ready to pay £43.5m fee i.e. the release clause to finally secure Scalvini in January.
The 20-year-old is already one of the best center halves in the Italian Serie A and is also on the radar of Spurs, Chelsea, Inter, Juventus and Real Madrid.
In the current campaign, so far, the youngster has started 15 league games for Atalanta and helped them keep 7 clean sheets.
He has already made 7 appearances for the Azzurri and would likely be part of their squad for the European Championships next summer.
Man Utd have been in a turmoil this term and their defense has been absolutely terrible. In your view, should they agree £43.5m asking fee to sign Giorgio Scalvini this month?
