Manchester United are in a delicate situation this summer where they have a number of players they want to move on from the current squad but also bring in reinforcements who could help out Ruben Amorim.
To do this, without having a big budget, the club needs to find a way to improvise.

One potential solution that could help out Man Utd in this regard is swap deals that could help them ship out players but at the same time, also ensure they get their preferred targets.
It isn’t often that swap deals are seen in the world of football these days but it still remains a very viable option.
Swap deals are often conducted under the guise of two separate transactions on either side to help balance financial books and as per The Irish Independent, Man Utd are ready to agree to the sale of talented Argentinian winger Alejandro Garnacho who is wanted by Chelsea to sign Christopher Nkunku from the London club.
Garnacho and Amorim haven’t always seen eye-to-eye throughout the season and the straw that broke the camel’s back was the Portuguese tactician’s decision to omit the youngster from the starting XI against Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League final. The youngster did not mince his words after the loss.
Man Utd are actively looking to sell Garnacho this summer and he is one of the names on the shortlist for Chelsea who are looking for a new winger, alongside Jamie-Bynoe Gittens and Malik Fofana.
Valued at £60m by the Red Devils, Chelsea could look to balance the books by selling an outcast of their own.
Christopher Nkunku has had a torrid couple of seasons at Chelsea and did not get much prominence last season and in Man Utd, he has a club that wants him to be a part of their project.
The 27-year-old played 43 games for Enzo Maresca’s side last season, scoring 14 goals and providing 5 assists but accumulated just 2045 minutes across those 43 games.
That is an average of just 48 minutes per game and when you factor in that many of the starts that he enjoyed came in the early stages of Chelsea’s Europa Conference League campaign, it is clear that Enzo Maresca doesn’t fancy him. In Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-2-1 system, playing as an attacking midfielder, Nkunku could become a weapon of mass destruction.
Everything points to Garnacho’s days in a Man Utd jersey being numbered. If moving him on also helps the club sign a player they want in Nkunku, this is a win-win for both clubs.
Let’s wait and see if the two English clubs are able to reach an agreement over a potential deal.
