Man Utd ready to agree terms to sign £30m Oranje star – Offer made

Ryan Gravenberch Bayern midfielder

Manchester United are ready to battle Liverpool for the signature of Ryan Gravenberch.

Having failed to establish himself as a regular in Germany following his £16m move from Ajax in the summer of 2022, the Netherlands international is pushing for a transfer away from Bayern Munich,

Last season, the 21-year-old could only accumulate three Bundesliga starts, and the new campaign has seen him remain on the bench as an unused substitute in the opening two games.

Meanwhile, new midfield signing Konrad Laimer started in the German Super Cup against his former club RB Leipzig and appeared off the bench in the defending champions’ first league outing.

Gravenberch fears he will miss out on the opportunity to represent Holland in the Euros next summer and is reportedly planning to hold showdown talks with the club bosses to understand Thomas Tuchel’s plans for him.

Both United and Liverpool are making serious efforts to sign him. A report in the Mirror suggests the north-west giants are ready to agree terms with the Dutchman and have accordingly submitted contract offers to the player.

The Bavarians, however, have so far shown reluctance to part ways with the talented box-to-box midfielder. German reports suggest it would take as much as £30m for Bayern to consider his departure.

The English outlet expects a loan move to be the most likely outcome of this saga.

Having said that, it’ll be interesting to see which north-west outfit Gravenberch decides to join before the transfer window closes.

There’s a void for a midfielder with ball-carrying ability in both sides, but the Oranje midfielder might prefer the idea of playing at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag due to his previous experience of working under the former Ajax boss.
