Despite that, the South American central defender has reiterated that he wants to play for the Nou Camp outfit for years.

After last night’s win against Sevilla, the 23-year-old center half claimed:

“I am very happy to be here. Happy with the support of the people. We are working on the renovation. This week we have a meeting. I hope that it is resolved soon so that I can continue for many years at this club. I want to stay here. I am optimistic”

As per recent reports going on in the Spanish media (AS), so far, Barcelona have only offered a deal worth £64,000 a week, on the other hand, Man Utd have already put forward a contract of over £129,000-a-week to sign Araujo.

It will be intriguing to see if Barcelona will match the figures offered by the Red Devils. The 9-apped international is an extremely important player for Xavi, he has helped the team keep 7 clean sheets so far this term and scored 4 goals as well.

The player has made it clear that his desire is to sign a new contract with the La Liga giants. Do you think Man Utd can steal his signing by offering him huge terms?
