Transfer – Man Utd prepare to secure strategic midfield signing – Report

Understandably, Erik ten Hag has come under the scanner for the umpteenth time in his Manchester United career. Every time there seems to be a beacon of hope, it feels like the Red Devils return to square one and have to start all over again.

Despite being heavily backed in the transfer market and being bolstered by five high-quality signings, the fortune just doesn’t seem to be turning around for the Dutch coach. At this point, it looks like he doesn’t have a long rope left.

As per Football Insider, Dan Ashworth, Omar Berrada, Jason Wilcox and Sir Jim Ratcliffe will be the key men in the Manchester United offices who decide if and when Ten Hag needs to be sacked, should it come to that.

Right now, the key men are happy to afford time to Ten Hag and do not want to rush into a rash call. Having signed the players that he wants, Man Utd want to give the Dutch coach a chance to implement his ideas.

However, it is also clear to them that should the results not improve, the decision will be forced out of their hand. This effectively means that the Ten Hag is on a short leash and that he needs to turn it around.

The next few weeks will be crucial in how the situation pans out for Erik ten Hag. A decision needs to be made on his future soon and it all depends on whether the results start coming. If not, this season will be yet another write-off for Man Utd and let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.
