Since joining from Atalanta ahead of last campaign, Rasmus Hojlund has been Manchester United’s first-choice striker.
However, he hasn’t been able to showcase his best in the Premier League yet. He couldn’t find the back of the net in the last 13 league games and 21 matches in all competitions before putting his name on the scoresheet against Leicester City.
News – Report – Man Utd offered to finally sign £29m-£34m player
This is his only third goal in the Premier League this term. The Red Devils decided to hire Joshua Zirkzee to support Hojlund last summer but he has been looking more comfortable in the No.10 position.
Now, the Italian outlet, TMW, state that Man Utd are ready to change the centre forward position once again this summer and have earmarked Victor Osimhen as an ‘ideal reinforcement’.
The Napoli man has been out on loan with Galatasaray this season but is likely to leave the Azzurri permanently at the end of this term and has a £63m[€75m] release clause in his current contract.
Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in signing the Nigerian, moreover, Arsenal are in this race as well. Therefore, Ruben Amorim’s side will have to overcome stiff competition to seal the deal.
In 28 appearances in the Turkish Super Lig and Europa League, Osimhen has scored 26 goals and registered five assists thus far this campaign.
The 26-year-old guided Napoli to win the Scudetto a couple of seasons ago and is an experienced prolific goal-scorer. Moreover, he has the physicality to flourish in the Premier League.
Therefore, the African could be an excellent acquisition for Man Utd if they purchase him. What do you think?
