Man Utd ready to line up deal to sign £51.4million player – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have been linked with French international and Monaco midfielder, Aurelien Tchouameni, for some time and the latest reports suggest that the Red Devils are stepping up interest to hire his services.

Last month, Le Parisien reported that the Old Trafford outfit are following the young defensive midfielder and could move to secure his signature.

Transfer: £416,000 a week star offered to Man United – Decision made

More recently, Football Insider have exclusively revealed that United want to reinforce things in the center of the park in the January transfer window and they sent scouts to monitor the performance of the Les Bleus player against PSV.

The news source have mentioned that Man Utd are ready to line up a deal to sign Tchouameni based on the scouts’ report. He was impressive in the Europa League contest that ended 0-0 last night.

The 21-year-old play breaker was a key member of the French squad that lifted the UEFA Nations League Trophy in October. His current contract with Monaco will expire in 2024 and as per Sport, they are asking for a fee of 60million euros (£51.4million).

Man Utd’s defensive problems have been persistent even after spending a lot of cash on defenders. One of the main reasons behind the conundrum is that Ole does not have a top quality holding midfielder to provide cover in front of the backline.

Nemanja Matic is the only natural play breaker in the side and the dilemma is that the Serbian is past his best and rarely starts for the club. Therefore, in my view, Man Utd should move to sign £51.4million-rated Aurelien Tchouameni. What do you think?

  1. It is true we need a play breaker in the mid of the park, Tchoumani is worth investing in. Moreover Pogba will be leaving.
