After a 10-man Man Utd beat Ipswich Town 3-2 in an important Premier League win for Ruben Amorim, a very interesting and baffling stat emerged about Matthijs de Ligt just showed just how big of a problem the Portuguese tactician is dealing with at Old Trafford.
So far this campaign, the Dutch center back has registered 8 shots on target. That is the same number of shots on target that the two Man Utd strikers – Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund have also managed in the league all season.

When your center-back has the same number of shots on target as your strikers, one would have to say that the work is cut out for Ruben Amorim.
Now, as per Calciomercato, Man Utd are preparing a shock transfer offer to sign Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
The report has mentioned that United want to give Napoli Rasmus Hojlund plus €40m to sign estranged striker Osimhen who is currently on loan at Galatasaray. The Nigerian doesn’t have a future at the Italian club and is bound to leave next summer.
What comes as an absolute shock here is how much of a loss United are willing to take on Hojlund. Napoli value Osimhen at around £61.9m, which amounts to about €75m, and this means that the Red Devils are valuing the Dane at just €35m.
That is a huge drop off from the €86m they spent to bring him to Old Trafford from Atalanta a couple of seasons ago. It looks like Man Utd have lost patience to persist with him and are willing to take a huge loss on his sale.
Man Utd are not a financially blessed club and selling Hojlund for such a huge loss would take a significant hit on their books. It does look the same will be the case with Antony as well, should he leave the club next summer.
Hojlund is still very young and rather than selling him for a loss, Man Utd would be better off bringing in someone more experienced like Osimhen and allowing the Dane to learn from him. Let’s wait and see how they go about this transfer saga going forward.
