Manchester United are consistently linked with Dutch international Matthijs de Ligt as Ten Hag looks to bolster his backline this summer.

As per today’s version of Corriere dello Sport (news image provided below), Chelsea are in pole position to sign the defender from Juventus but Man Utd are ready to officially attack to steal his signing.

Transfer: Star wants £182,000+ a week to join Man United who are willing to agree terms – Report

Initially, the Blues moved in with an offer worth 45 million euros plus Timo Werner but the Old Lady rejected the deal.

The Italian news source have mentioned that the Bianconeri are only looking for cash and do not want the German international, who would command a high salary just to sit on the bench behind Vlahovic.

It is stated that Man Utd have not officially moved for De Ligt as yet but they are ready to do so to ensure that the player moves to Old Trafford.

CdS claim that Erik ten Hag is prepared to forcefully launch an attack on the Blues to sign the 22-year-old star from the Italian giants. The former Ajax skipper is mentioned as the priority target.

As far as the asking price is concerned, Juve ideally want the suitors to activate the youngster’s 115 million release clause but an offer of around 80-90 million euros could make the difference.

In the last campaign, De Ligt started 29 games in the Serie A for the Turin-based side and helped them keep 11 clean sheets. In the attacking third, he scored 3 goals and provided an assist under Allegri.

The Netherlands defender, who made his debut for the senior national side back in 2017, still has two years left on his contract and he currently earns around £280,000 a week (Goal).

In your view, should Man Utd outbid Chelsea to sign Matthijs de Ligt?
