Man Utd ready to pay £76million to finally secure signing – Pole position

Koulibaly and Skriniar

Manchester United have been linked with Kalidou Koulibaly for a very long time and the latest reports seem highly positive for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s team.

Last month, Mirror Sport revealed that the Red Devils are determined to lure the Senegalese international in the summer transfer window.

Transfer: Club prepared to offer £120,000-a-week forward to Manchester United – Report

Moreover, earlier this month, La Gazzetta Dello Sport claimed that the Old Trafford outfit would be able to hire the services of the Napoli star if they offer a fee of 100 million euros.

More recently, La Repubblica (via Sport Witness) have claimed that Koulibaly is prepared to leave the Naples based side in the next window and he is set to move to Manchester.

The Italian outlet have mentioned that the 20-time English champions are in pole position being ahead of Man City in the pursuit of the African star, who was lured for 8.5 million euros by the Serie A club. It is further stated that president De Laurentiis would listen to offers for his prized asset and Man Utd are ready to pay 85 million euros (£76million) to finally secure his signing.

The 28-year-old star is one of the best defenders in the world. He is the captain of the Senegal national team and has won his country’s Player of the Year prize on two occasions.

He is the only center back who has made it into the Team of the Year in the past four Italian league campaigns.

However, this time around, the former Genk man has spent a lot of days on the treatment table since the turn of the year. In all competitions, he has made 21 appearances and missed 11 games due to injury concerns.

At Old Trafford, Man Utd spent a lot of cash to strengthen their back-line last summer. Clearly, they now need to improve other departments in the next window.

In your view, should Solskjaer pay £76million to sign Kalidou Koulibaly, who will turn 29 in June?
