Man Utd ready to push to finally sign £38million player – Report

Nikola Milenkovic Serbia

Manchester United have been linked with Nikola Milenkovic for a very long time and the latest reports are interesting.

Back when Mourinho was in charge of the Red Devils, the Serbian international was on the radar but Jose’s departure changed the picture (ESPN). Now, reports suggest that Man Utd are ready to push to finally sign him.

Transfer: Man Utd want priority signing of wanted £69.5million midfielder – Report

Lately, the 23-year-old has been in the lime light again, mainly because his contract with Fiorentina will expire in the summer of 2022 and he is expected to leave in the next transfer window.

According to an exclusive story covered by The Sun, Man Utd are ready to step up the chase to secure the former Partizan Belgrade center half.

The British outlet have mentioned that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is eager to hire the services of a center back to partner with skipper Harry Maguire. It is stated that the Viola would ask for a fee of £38million for their star defender and the Old Trafford outfit would not like to meet that price.

In all fairness, the asking price mentioned above makes little sense because, one, the player will be free to leave next year, two, he wants to leave this summer, three, his form has been inconsistent this term. So, he should be available for cheap.

If you look at the reports coming from Italy, earlier this month, GdS (via Sport Witness) reported that Milenkovic has rejected the contract offer made by Fiorentina and he wants to exit the club. In such a scenario, the Italian side are hoping to get a fee of 25 million euros (£22million). Now, that valuation makes more sense.

In your opinion, who should Man Utd sign to strengthen their central defense for the next campaign?
