Man United now ‘ready to’ spend big to secure major signings for manager – Report

Erik ten Hag - Manchester United manager

After weeks in doubt, it looks highly likely that Erik ten Hag will be the head coach of Manchester United going into the new season.

The Red Devils did win the FA Cup but had dismal Premier League and Champions League campaigns, hence the squad must be reinforced in the summer transfer window.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then Man Utd are prepared to back Ten Hag with ample funds to secure major signings.

According to an exclusive story covered by Football Insider, Man Utd are ‘ready to’ provide a transfer budget of £140million to improve the squad for Ten Hag.

The above mentioned budget would increase with the sale of star players and the club are in the process of selling Sancho, Greenwood and veteran, Casemiro.

In the two years in charge of the club, the former Ajax manager has spent a lot of money and it will be fair to say that majority of the funds have been wasted on average signings.

United broke the bank for Antony, who only netted a single goal in the last Premier League campaign. A decent amount was paid for Onana and he failed to adequately replace De Gea.

Malacia and Martinez looked promising but the duo have spent majority of the time on the treatment table since moving to Old Trafford.

Hojlund still needs time to settle, Amrabat rarely started last term and Mount proved to be a flop.

Therefore, United need to improve their recruitment system and quality reinforcements are needed this term if they are to bounce back next season.

In your view, who should Man Utd sign to improve the squad for Ten Hag?
