As per latest reports going on in the media, Manchester United are heavily linked with Italian international Nicolo Zaniolo.
Few days back, Il Messaggero via (Sport Witness) reported that the Red Devils are in discussions with AS Roma over the transfer of Chris Smalling and they are also looking to rush things in order to sign Zaniolo.
Transfer: Man Utd consider move to sign £75,000-a-week proven quality star in January
More recently, the renowned Italian outlet have claimed that the likes of Manchester United and PSG are ready to move in with an offer to hire the services of the Azzurri starlet.
It is mentioned that the two clubs would be willing to offer a fee of 60 million euros and it would be hard for the player to turn down a contract worth 10 million euros per season (Il Messaggero).
The 20-year-old playmaker’s current contract with the Serie A side will expire in 2024 and he is rated at (Leggo) 80 million euros (£68million).
Zaniolo is naturally a central attacking midfielder but he can effectively play on the flanks as well. At Old Trafford, Solskjaer does not have enough quality for the CAM role.
Juan Mata is past his best and the Spaniard has mainly played in the wide-attacking positions for United. Lingard has been highly inconsistent over the years, on the other hand, Pereira has at times played in the CAM position this season but so far, the 23-year-old has only scored 1 goal and provided just 1 assist in 16 appearances this term.
Therefore, Woodward needs to splash the cash, sign a top quality attacking midfielder in the winter transfer window and the versatile Italian fits the bill.
The youngster netted a brace in his last game for the national team under Roberto Mancini and so far, he has scored 5 goals in 14 starts (all competitions) for Roma this term. In your view, should Man Utd splash the cash to sign Nicolo Zaniolo?
Manchester united have everything to gain if they buy him and sale lingard and Pereira to raise the funds. We also need reinforcement in strikers position with two new people and a defensive midfielder
Yeah is true that man UTD need an attacking midfielder but they need to sign the ones that have proven their selfs like Bruno Fernandes and gave the graduates like Angel Gomes and James Garner chance to show their talents too not by wasting money in one season player who you can’t predict that he will do great next season
