Following yesterday’s loss against West Ham United, Ruben Amorim has said that the Red Devils need to make tough decisions in the summer to turn the situation around.
He even hinted that if the problem doesn’t improve at the start of next season, his job should be given to a different person.
Man Utd have reportedly been in financial difficulties, so they need to raise funds by selling stars to add new faces this summer.
Football Insider state that Man Utd are open to selling Antony despite his resurgence in La Liga since joining Real Betis on a loan deal in January and are prepared to suffer a huge loss.
Man Utd hired him for a huge £86m deal from Ajax Amsterdam back in 2022, but are now ready to accept around £20m-£30m. Los Verdiblancos want to sign the Brazilian on a permanent deal or are even ready to keep him on loan if possible.
However, Atletico Madrid have now also joined the race, having been impressed by the forward’s recent displays.
Antony enjoyed a bright start at Old Trafford after joining from Ajax, scoring in the first three consecutive games. However, it became apparent quickly that he wasn’t suited for the Premier League.
He made only five goal contributions in 38 appearances for United last season and scored only once in the first half of this campaign.
However, in 22 appearances in La Liga and the Conference League, Antony has scored eight goals and registered five assists for the Andalusian side.
