Man Utd ready to win race to sign star with £27million clause in winter

Timo Werner Germany

Manchester United have been linked with German international Timo Werner for quite some time and the latest reports are interesting.

According to a report covered by Mirror Football, Man Utd are ready to make a move and beat arch rivals Liverpool to sign the Kaiser in the winter transfer window.

The British outlet have mentioned that the Red Devils believe they’ll win the race to sign the Bundesliga striker, who has a release clause of £27million in his contract, by offering him regular first team football.

Transfer: Man Utd prepared to secure signing of £80million player in January – Report

Werner is currently in world class form for Leipzig. In the current campaign, so far, he has directly contributed in 19 goals (13 goals and 6 assists) in just 15 appearances (all competitions).

The 23-year-old has already netted two hat-tricks in the league. At the weekend, he scored three goals and provided three assists to help his side beat FSV Mainz 8-0.

I’m not quite sure how we are going to attract the German center forward with just regular first team football.

This season, out of 11 league fixtures, Man Utd have just won 3 games so far and are currently sitting in 10th place with only 13 points.

It seems that we are already out of the race to qualify for the next season’s Champions League because Chelsea, who currently occupy the final CL qualification spot, are in top form and 10 points ahead of us. Moreover, the brand of football we play under Solskjaer is extremely boring.

On the other hand, Liverpool are competing for top prizes and they are also one of the most entertaining sides in the world under Jurgen Klopp, who was recently voted as the Manager of the Year by FIFA.

In your view, can Man Utd beat the Anfield club to sign Timo Werner in winter?
