Man Utd readying move to sign £40million star in summer – Report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Manchester United have not been able to strengthen their midfield in the past three transfer windows. Therefore, they must splash the cash to reinforce the department in the summer.

If reports in the media are anything to go by (Mirror Sport) then Man Utd are readying a summer move to sign Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks, who is valued at £40million.

Transfer: Club prepared to offer £400,000-a-week star to Manchester United – Report

The British source have revealed that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to put together an exciting young team and the Norwegian manager has told his friend that he can build the midfield around the 24-year-old central midfielder.

The England international has played 130 senior games for Spurs, so he has got ample experience under his belt but his stats are by no means impressive.

So far, Winks has only scored two goals and provided as many assists for the north Londoners. The 6-capped international has the ability to make driving runs but for a creative central midfielder, he has not directly contributed in many goals.

This season, the Three Lions star has mainly played in the defensive midfield role. So far, he ha made 28 appearances in all competitions and is yet to find the net or provide an assist this term. He has already received 7 yellow cards.

We have not replaced the likes of Fellaini and Herrera as yet and if Pogba is sold, then a proven quality central midfielder must be lured and in my view, the Spurs star does not fit the bill.

In your view, should Man Utd move in with an offer to sign £40million-rated Harry Winks in the summer transfer window?
