We are heading into the final week of the January transfer window and Manchester United desperately need to sign key players to strengthen the squad.
As far as the midfield is concern, once again German international Emre Can is in the focus and reports suggest that the Red Devils could move to sign him this month.
Back in October, Sky Sports revealed that the Old Trafford club are keen on signing the Kaiser, who is valued at £35million.
Now, Tutto Sport have revealed that Man Utd seem willing to sign the ex Liverpool star on temporary basis (loan) but they face competition from Everton and German club Borussia Dortmund.
The 26-year-old is a proven PL star, who can play anywhere in the center of the park. He played in multiple midfield roles under the management of Klopp but in 2018, the former Bayern Munich man opted to leave Anfield (after playing over 150 games) to join Juventus on a free transfer.
Unfortunately, this season, the midfielder has mainly warmed the bench for the Italian champions. Sarri opted to exclude him from CL squad (group stage), the ex Chelsea boss has not used Can in the Coppa Italia as yet and so far, he has only started two games in the Serie A.
At Old Trafford, Solskjaer did not strengthen the center of the park in the past two transfer windows and our midfield is suffering from injury crisis with star names like Pogba and McTominay out. Therefore, at the moment, a versatile player like Can would improve the situation.
The Serie A player surely needs to leave the Turin based club in order to play regular first team football and to earn a place in Joachim Low’s Euro 2020 squad. However, I do not think that he would want to ruin his relation with Liverpool by opting to sign for us, their biggest rivals.
