Even after spending a lot of cash to secure two defensive signings this summer, Manchester United’s backline has been a complete disaster.
They lost to Brighton at Old Trafford in the opening PL game and were ripped apart by Brentford 4-0 yesterday.
Transfer: Man Utd closer as agent desires to complete £15million move in days – Report
If the latest reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils have moved in with an offer to hire the services of Sergino Dest from Barcelona.
As per today’s version of Sport (news image provided below), the 21-year-old right back has received a clear message from Barca and Xavi to leave the club in the summer transfer window.
In the opening La Liga fixture, the Catalan giants did not select the USA international against Rayo Vallecano and the defender is clear that he is not part of the manager’s plan.
In such a scenario, Barcelona are already negotiating to sell the youngster to Manchester United. The Old Trafford outfit have submitted a player plus cash offer to sign Dest.
However, Sport claim the Blaugrana prefers a full cash deal worth 20 million euros (£17m) to offload the 17-capped American.
Dest rose to fame at Ajax under the management of current Man Utd boss, Erik ten Hag. The Dutch coach knows all about the qualities of the right back and can bring him to reinforce the defense.
Thus far, Dalot has started in the RB role and he has been average like the entire squad. In your opinion, should United offer £17m to sign Sergino Dest?
Why not?….with who we have at the moment he should be an upgrade!!!
