Man Utd have been after Goncalo Inacio for a long time and even last month, they were looking to hire his services.

As per a story published by Correio da Manha today (news image provided below), the termination clauses were not a hindrance for the Premier League clubs.

Man Utd, Arsenal and Liverpool ‘threatened’ to activate the ‘clause’ worth £51.2m (60 million euros) to sign the Portuguese international.

However, much to the relief of Sporting CP manager, Ruben Amorin, the transfer window closed and the amount was not met.

The Old Trafford outfit also had English winger, Marcus Edwards, who also has an exit clause of £51.2m, on their radar.

Center forward, Gyokeres, who was linked with a move to Old Trafford in December last year, was mainly wanted by Chelsea in the winter transfer window.

It is reported that the Blues were capable of paying the 100 million euros fee to sign him but in the end, they didn’t.

The Lions are favorites to win the Primeira Liga this season and are absolutely delighted to hold on to their key players in winter.

The transfer sagas are expected to gain pace again closer to the summer transfer window and for the latest updates, watch this space.
