Report – Man Utd told £75million will get signing done

Where do we even start with Manchester United this season? The easiest way to put it would be by saying that they are going through one of their most dismal campaigns of all time and there seems to be nothing on the horizon to offer hope.

In his short tenure so far, Ruben Amorim has made his predecessor Erik ten Hag look like a tactical genius. Appointing the Portuguese manager was expected to be one step forward but so far, it has proven to be two steps back.

Yes, it must be taken into context that Amorim is working without a pre-season and has completely changed the system since coming to Man Utd but currently, the team finds itself closer to the relegation spots than the top half of the table.

Despite this, it does look like Man Utd have already started planning for the future. Now, as per Sky Sport, the Red Devils have been told that a fee of around £75million will help them land talented RB Leipzig defender Castello Lukeba.

The French defender who has been excelling in the Bundesliga could be on his way to Manchester next season. A naturally left-footed center-back, he would fit right into the back three system that Ruben Amorim deploys here.

So far this season, Lukeba has played 20 times across all competitions for the Bundesliga club. His performances have been remarkable to say the least but the asking price seems to be a little over the top for Man Utd to consider.

Capped once at the senior level by France, there is potential for Lukeba to become one of the very best in his position. However, he is far from the finished product and not the kind of player that Man Utd need at the current state of their project.

However, the club never really seems to do what everyone expects them to and only time will tell if they actually make an offer to sign Castello Lukeba from RB Leipzig in the summer.
