Man United urged to secure signing of £50million star – Journalist

Ben White Brighton

Manchester United are linked with numerous quality center backs and once again the name of Ben White is in the focus.

Back in December 2020, Sky Sports News reported that the Red Devils are monitoring the English player, who has been one of the best performing central defenders in the league this season.

Transfer: Man Utd were obsessed, £51.5million would finally get signing done – Report

More recently, renowned journalist, Duncan Castles has revealed that club captain Harry Maguire has urged Man United to secure the signing of Ben White.

The England international has mainly partnered Swedish star Lindelof or Ivorian international Bailly in the central defense and the former Leicester City star has told the club that he would want an English speaking partner in the form of the Seagulls player.

White was highly impressive in the last campaign for Leeds United under the guidance of Argentine boss Marcelo Bielsa. He featured in every single league game for the Elland Road outfit to help them win the Championship title.

He was heavily linked with a move away from the Falmer Stadium in the summer but Brighton were persuasive enough to agree a new contract with him. From January 16, 2021 to February 21, White helped his team keep 5 clean sheets in 6 Premier League fixtures (conceded 1 goal).

His current contract with the Seagulls will expire in the summer of 2024 and reports suggest that he is valued at around £50million (talkSPORT).

In the last 15 league games, Man Utd have managed to keep 9 clean sheets, moreover, they have not conceded a single goal in the last four PL games. So, things have improved at the back under Solskjaer but there is still room for improvement.

Do you think, Ole should listen to his captain and bring £50million-rated Ben White to Old Trafford?
