Man Utd want £255,000-a-week playmaker, consider strong attacking signing – Report

Felix Ronaldo Portugal

Manchester United heavily relied on Ronaldo for goals last season and the burden must be shared in the next campaign if Ten Hag’s men are to improve.

If reports in the media are anything to go by then the Red Devils are interested in hiring the services of Portuguese playmaker, Joao Felix.

Transfer: Man Utd have made contact to sign £95million striker – Report

According to a recent report covered by Correio da Manha, Man Utd want to sign Felix, who could end up leaving Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese news source have mentioned that the Old Trafford outfit see the Seleccao star as a strong option to reinforce the attack.

As far as the competition is concerned, it is stated that the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham are also looking to lure the 22-year-old from the Rojiblancos.

Felix is a versatile talent, who has excelled in multiple offensive positions. Naturally, he is a secondary striker but can effectively play on the flanks and also as a CF if needed.

The youngster directly contributed in over 30 goals in his last campaign for Benfica. However, he has not been able to replicate that form in Spain because Diego Simeone has mainly deployed a defense-minded system at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Last season, the 22-capped international only scored a single goal in the Champions League and that was against Manchester United. In all competitions, he scored 10 goals and provided 6 assists.

Felix’s current contract with Colchoneros will expire in 2026 and he earns around £255,000-a-week (The Sun).

Atletico paid a fee of more than 120 million euros to sign him from the Primeira Liga, so, they would surely not let him leave for cheap.

Have your say – Is Joao Felix good enough to improve the attack at Old Trafford?
