Man Utd want to agree fee to seal key signing before deadline – Report

Manchester United have largely improved under Ten Hag after the FIFA World Cup but they have heavily relied on Marcus Rashford in the attack.

The England international has netted 10 goals in his last 10 appearances in all competitions and has been the catalyst for the Red Devils

The problem is that United do not have ample quality and depth in their strike-force. They have lost a superstar forward in Ronaldo and replaced him with Weghorst.

According to The Mail, Man Utd are looking to agree a small fee to sign another striker before the transfer deadline ends next week.

The 20-time English champions failed to lure key targets like Gakpo and Felix this month and have targeted Osimhen and Ramos for the summer.

Weghorst managed to score his first goal for United last night in the league cup contest against Nottingham Forest but the Dutchman is not a goal scorer with a proven track record.

On the other hand, No.9, Anthony Martial, has been out of form for over 2 years. The French international only scored a single league goal last season with United and Sevilla (on loan). This season, he has only scored 3 goals in 9 Premier League appearances under Erik ten Hag.

Without a clinical finisher, United will not be able to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for the title.

Have your say – Who should Man Utd sign to reinforce their strike force before deadline?
