After becoming Manchester United’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim was asked whether he would take any of his players from Sporting CP to Old Trafford.
The Portuguese boss made it clear that it won’t happen in January, but didn’t rule out the possibility of that happening in the summer.

However, following a disastrous start to his tenure at Man Utd, it appears Amorim has changed his stance as The Daily Star now report that the United boss has demanded his new employer to sign Viktor Gyokeres.
Keeping in view the disastrous start to his career in England, he can’t wait until next summer to secure the star striker.
Amorim has identified Gyokeres as the primary target to reinforce the CF position and so, the Red Devils are advancing their bid to sign him in this winter window.
The Swedish international has a £80m release clause in his current contract and Sporting don’t want to let him leave for anything less than that.
Situation at Old Trafford
The Old Trafford club are prepared to sell Joshua Zirkzee and Marcus Rashford this month to create room for new acquisitions. The latter has found himself out of favor under Amorim, while the former has had a tough start to his life in the Premier League after joining from Bologna last summer.
He has made four goal contributions in 17 Premier League appearances and United’s other striker, Rasmus Hojlund, has scored only two goals in 14 league matches.
On the other hand, Rashford has made only five goal contributions in 15 league appearances.
Compared to the trio, Gyokeres has netted 18 goals and registered two assists in 16 Liga Nos games thus far this season. So, the Sporting CP forward would be an upgrade to both Hojlund and Zirkzee if the Red Devils purchase him.
