Donny van de Beek Netherlands

Manchester United’s record signing Paul Pogba is heavily linked with a move away from Old Trafford and in such a situation, the Red Devils are in the market for a quality replacement.

One name who has been in the lime light for quite some time is that of Donny van de Beek. The latest reports going on in the media are intriguing.

Transfer: £90million striker would like to agree Manchester United move – Report

According to Sport (via Sport Witness), Man Utd will launch a move to sign the Ajax star in order to replace Pogba at the club.

The renowned Spanish source have mentioned that apart from the Old Trafford outfit, the likes of Newcastle United and Everton are also interested in hiring the services of the attacking midfielder.

Another Spanish source in the form of Mundo Deportivo recently claimed that outside England, Italian champions Juventus and Spanish giants Real Madrid also have the £44million star on their radar.

The 23-year-old Netherlands player is naturally an attacking midfielder but he can effectively play in the creative central midfield role as well.

The 9-capped international was a key member of the Ajax squad that won the domestic double and also reached the semi finals of the Champions League last season.

In the 2019-20 season, the versatile attacker scored 8 goals and provided 6 assists in 22 Eredivisie starts under Erik Ten Hag before the campaigned was cancelled.

Since Bruno Fernandes is our first choice CAM and since we have not strengthened the central midfield for almost two years, we can expect Van de Beek to play in the center of the park if he does end up moving this summer.

In your view, is Donny van de Beek good enough to replace Paul Pogba at Old Trafford? Should Man Utd splash £44million to sign the attacking midfielder?
