Manchester United have been linked with Danish international and Tottenham star Christian Eriksen for quite some time and the latest reports going on in the media re intriguing.
Few days back, The Metro reported that the Red Devils are willing to put in an offer to hire the services of the former Ajax playmaker in January.
Transfer: Man Utd want to close the signing of £86million star for next season – Report
More recently, El Desmarque have claimed that Eriksen is tired of waiting for Real Madrid, who are now concentrating on signing Fabian Ruiz from Napoli.
The Spanish source have mentioned that Solskjaer wants to sign the 27-year-old attacker, he is already in talks with the Old Trafford club, who will offer 50 million euros (£43million) to secure his signature in the January transfer window.
The playmaker’s current contract will expire in June 2020, therefore, to earn 50 million euros for his departure in the winter window would surely be much better for Spurs than losing him for nothing in the summer.
Over the years, Eriksen has proved to be one of the best attacking players in the Premier League and in all fairness, he is on a very low salary of £80,000-a-week (The Mirror).
He has won the Danish Player of the Year prize on four occasions and in 2017-18, he made it into the PFA Team of the Year. Unfortunately, this season, the former Eredivisie attacking midfielder has been out for form and so far, he has only scored 2 goals in 14 appearances.
Nevertheless, form is temporary and class is permanent. United lack quality and depth in their attack and a proven quality player like the Denmark star would largely improve the department.
In your view, should Solskjaer splash £43million to sign Christian Eriksen in January?
